DJ UK Judge Tour
UK Judge Redefines Laws of Trance Music in LA & Releases New CD

In a ruling that will send shockwaves throughout the Los Angeles club scene, the UK Judge, a.k.a. Sasha Farhadian, has embarked on his first US tour, which kicks off this week in California. Stops for the London-based DJ’s journey include major club and afterhours gigs in the L.A./Hollywood area, as well as hotspots in Mexico and the San Francisco Bay.

Much to the delight of clubgoers that thirst for new, progressive sounds, the UK Judge has surfaced in L.A. fresh from the London trance circuit, celebrated for years as being avant-garde and ahead of its time. With experience that spans eight years, five of which have comprised of professional spinning, and with his current stint as producer for Dukes Avenue Records, the UK Judge has been on the road playing trance music in front of hungry audiences in London, North England and even the USA. Some of his British credits include clubs like Torque, O’bar, Bagleys, ClubW14 and raves across the UK. This is his first official tour.

“DJ-ing is an art form,” the UK Judge declares. “People say it’s easy putting a needle on a record but it’s more than that -- there’s structure and composition to a set, and it’s not all about getting the mix in. To change the mood of a person on the dance floor is not easy, and that’s my ultimate goal.” He likens spinning trance music to the stupor of a drug. “To me it’s a buzz to make someone smile or feel good and I think my music does that. It brings people to a state of higher consciousness, and that gives me a natural high.”

Far from the characteristic rhythms that pulse across dance floors in the US, the UK Judge combines an entire spectrum of house genres ranging from uplifting soft trance to hard NrG, bringing distinctive versatility to an otherwise predictable category of music. He counts Oberon, Beamish, Hector and Choci as some of his influences through the years.

In the evolving court of trance music, there’s hard evidence that the UK Judge will be redefining norms and laws, setting a precedent for DJs to come. To see the ground-breaking phenomenon for yourself, check out the UK Judge’s upcoming tour. Details coming soon.

The first UK Judge Mix CD has just been released and is currently available in the Hokis Khanout only.
